“I could have written a better blog”

Are the words that rolled out of my mouth as soon as I finished my last blog. My friend hearing this reminded me, that I have an unhealthy habit of degrading whatever I do. To an extent that I am never satisfied with my work. I shrugged this thought off, till Amal totkay brought it back! During week 2 I decided to nurture a growth mindset but now it seems as if I have taken a U-turn. The 5 Amal totkay were a fresh breath of air, and great self-reminder to start the change from within! Last week I made a decision but had little direction to execute it. These 5 tips have given me the direction of embodying the growth mindset.

As I write this, I have set reminders on my phone to give myself the daily prep-talk. Which brings me to my favorite tip that is talking to your self positively. This reminds me of Perfect by P!nk’s lyrics

“Change the voices in your head, make them like you instead”

I also really appreciate the mention of creating new habits, and asking for help. I swear by both of these. The biggest hope we have in today’s world is change. Change is a real thing, and I call my dibs on it. Which is why it is important for people to know that habits, values, and ideologies can be unlearned and learned. On the other hand, change is not individual but a combined effort. It’s about time asking for help should be normalized.

Just by reading the tips, I have started to implement them. I gave my old blog another read and told myself “you did a good job, you did the best you could in the given time”. Furthermore, I have noted down these tips in my journal. I have a reflection journal which I fill out on day end to see if I were able to get closer to the person I want to become. Now I will evaluate myself for whether I am developing a growth mindset or not.
